About Jo O'Dell
The work is not separate from my life.
I am a father, mentor and guide who has spent more than ten years walking beside men through change, challenge, fatherhood, relationships, identity and deeper self-honesty.
The man behind the work
I did not arrive here with all the answers.
My name is Joseph O'Dell, though most people know me as Jo.
For much of my life, I carried the absence of a father I never met. He left before I was born and died when I was five. I learned early how to keep moving, how to be strong and how to make sense of things alone.
Becoming a father brought that unfinished relationship into view. In raising my daughters, I began meeting the parts of myself I had learned to leave behind. The anger. The grief. The tenderness. The longing to know what it meant to be a man who could remain present.
The Warrior's Heart grew from that lived inquiry. Not from having perfected fatherhood or manhood, but from staying in relationship with both.
I thought I was here to help men. I realised I was here to walk beside them.
Presence before performance. Relationship before prescription.
What shapes the work
A practice that is lived.
This work continues to be formed through the ordinary and sacred places of my own life. I do not stand outside the questions I invite other men to meet.
Fatherhood
Learning to remain present, repair when needed and let relationship keep teaching me.
Ceremony
Listening beyond the noise and meeting life with reverence, humility and responsibility.
Community
Gathering with men, tending culture and remembering that none of us walks alone.
Clinic work
More than a decade beside people navigating identity, emotion, family and change.
Continued practice
Staying teachable and accountable to the work in my own body, home and relationships.
From fire to family
Fatherhood did not give me all the answers.
It gave me a reason to keep listening. To meet what I had inherited. To take responsibility for what I carry forward. And to keep returning to the kind of presence I want my daughters to know.
How I walk beside you
No fixing. No performance.
I will reflect what I see.
With honesty, care and respect for your own knowing.
I will challenge the pattern.
Without making you wrong or telling you who to become.
I will help create safety.
Enough safety for honesty, emotion and what has been difficult to name.
I will stay in relationship.
Through breakthrough, resistance, return, integration and the ordinary days between.
The living work
Still learning. Still listening. Still walking.
I am not here to fix you, rescue you or give you a new identity to perform.
I am here to walk beside you. To support you in becoming more deeply rooted in the man you already know yourself to be.
This work does not give you power. It reminds you that you have had it all along.
The first step is a conversation
There is nothing to prove here.
If something in this work feels familiar, we can begin with a conversation. No pressure to commit. Just space to meet, listen and discern whether the relationship is right.

The Story (The Man Behind the Fire)
My name is Joseph O’Dell, though many know me as Jo.
For most of my life, I carried a quiet ache — the absence of a father I never met.
He left before I was born, and passed when I was five.
That wound became my teacher.
For years, I tried to fill the silence with success, strength, and service — to prove that I could be the man I never had.
But it wasn’t until I became a father myself that I finally met the truth:
I wasn’t missing a father out there — I was missing the father within me.
When my daughters were born, everything I’d buried came rushing to the surface —
the anger, the confusion, the loneliness, the longing.
And in their cries, I heard my own.
I realised that fatherhood wasn’t just about raising children —
it was about raising myself.
That moment became the seed of The Warrior’s Heart.
A place for men to remember that strength isn’t in what we hold together — it’s in what we’re willing to let fall apart and rebuild with love.
“I thought I was here to help men. I realised I was here to walk beside them.”
The Mission (Why This Exists)
The Warrior’s Heart exists to reawaken the father within every man.
Not just the biological father —
but the inner father that protects, nurtures, and guides.
Our mission is simple, but powerful:
To help men remember who they are.
To move from survival to embodiment.
To raise stronger families by healing the man within.
This isn’t self-help.
It’s lineage work.
It’s how we break the cycle — and build something better for the generations that follow.
“When a man heals, generations heal with him.”
The Way (How We Walk)
The Warrior’s Heart moves through three gateways — each one a reflection of the elements, and of the path back to wholeness:
🌍 COMMUNITY — The Foundation of Brotherhood
Men’s Circles, Workshops, and Hikes
Spaces to gather, share, and remember, we were never meant to do this alone.
🌊 IMMERSE — The Depth Work
1:1 Immersions and Mentorship
Guided experiences to release what’s heavy and return to presence.
🔥 JOURNEY — The Path of Initiation
Foundations for Fathers & Retreats
The fire of transformation — from healing to leadership, from man to father.
Together, these form the medicine wheel of The Warrior’s Heart.
A living rhythm that evolves as you do.
The Values (The Code We Live By)
Our work is guided by nine core values, the Pillars of The Warrior’s Heart:
Integrity — Living truth in action
Strength — Rooted in presence, not control
Communication — Speaking and listening from the heart
Vulnerability — The courage to be seen
Courage — Walking through fear with love
Compassion — Meeting self and others with softness
Leadership — Serving from example, not ego
Trust — In self, in spirit, in the process
Alignment — Living in rhythm with truth
These aren’t concepts, they’re lived practices.
Each pillar forms part of the 8-week Foundations for Fathers journey and the rhythm we walk through all our work.
“A man who walks with heart walks with direction.”
The Vision (The Legacy Ahead)
This is bigger than a business.
It’s a movement — a remembering.
The vision is simple:
To build communities of fathers and men who live with integrity, love with depth, and lead with heart.
To see circles in every city,
families grounded in safety and truth,
and future generations raised by men who have done their inner work.
The Warrior’s Heart is not about becoming perfect —
it’s about becoming whole.
“We are not here to escape the fire — we are here to become it.”
The Invitation
This work calls to men at different stages of their journey.
Some come to release pain.
Some come to remember their power.
Some come simply because they’re tired of walking alone.
Wherever you are — start there.
You don’t need to have it all together.
You just need to be willing to begin.
